The locals all told us not to take the Coastal Highway, but we didn't listen and we are glad we did. There is some beautiful scenery on this bumpy, muddy road.
The last half of the video includes photos.
Videographer Brandon Martin accompanied Rice Earth Science Professor André Droxler and graduate students to Belize’s coast to study coral reef health. The field trip was a part of a graduate level seminar on carbonates and climate change, and students spent the better part of each day gathering observations in the water, presenting their findings and attending lectures. For Martin, “This was a lot of work for me and a lot of learning for the students,” he said. We followed up with Droxler, one of Rice’s most intrepid researchers, to learn more about coral reef health. Why are reefs indicators of climate change? Coral reefs are biogenic constructions made by a complex and highly diverse assemblage of fauna and flora, therefore need to be considered as a living organism. Often, coral reefs...
Belize's deadliest road. Watch us tackle Coastal Highway Belize. Why it's called Coastal Highway we don't understand. It not near the coast and it certainly is not road you can travel at highway speeds. We made it, but don't advise you do it. Only experienced 4x4 drivers need apply.
Bobby Liang kayaking. Raz phou filming with DJI Mavic drone. accompanied song is Christopher Cross' "sailing". just substitute the word "kayaking" for "sailing"! Lol. Strong winds inland made it difficult to get far off the coast.
Role call in the morning followed by some chart works and team building
Had an awesome week fishing off the coast of Belize. This should be on every anglers bucket list. Before you go make sure and contact capt George Bradley. He is a veteran captain on the island of Ambergris Caye. He's one of the most knowledgeable guides I've ever fished with. I would also recommend booking a reef diving excursion. Make sure and ask your guide to make ceviche while you're on the trip. You won't be disappointed.
